Students for Life is an exciting partnership between area high schools and
Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. CBCO offers forty $500.00 scholarships to
graduating seniors in high schools that sponsor at least two blood drives per school
year with CBCO.
Who is Eligible?
Students that are directly involved in the organization of their high school blood
drive are eligible to apply for the scholarships.
When will the Scholarships be Awarded?
Scholarships will be presented to the winning students at their high school awards
assembly by a CBCO representative.
When is the Deadline for Application?
Applications are accepted between January 1 and March 14 of each year.
How Do I Apply?
1. Submit a completed application form signed by the faculty sponsor of the blood
drive. This form will certify the participation level of each applicant.
2. Submit a 300 – 350 word essay (typed, double-spaced) on the topic, “How has your
involvement in the CBCO blood program helped develop your understanding of the importance
of community service?”
How are the Winners Determined?
All submissions will be reviewed by a five-person committee made up of volunteers
from communities throughout the CBCO region. Submissions will be evaluated based
on creativity, writing skills, and overall presentation effectiveness. Scholarships
are limited to one recipient per high school.
