Accounting Technician

Position:                   Accounting Technician

Status:                     Full-time, Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

Performs accounts payable (A/P), inventory management functions. Creates monthly journal entries for month-end.  Works closely with the purchasing department to ensure proper payment and posting of inventory and other items.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs A/P functions.

Maintains vendor files for 1099 filing.

Communicates with outside vendors and internal purchasing department

Performs inventory management computer entry and ensures cost is correct.

Maintains supply inventory files.

Works with purchasing department to ensure proper costing and payment of all purchased items.

Other A/P and inventory duties as assigned.

Provides excellent customer service, cultivating positive working relationships with all staff, volunteers and external customers.

Exhibits safety, accuracy, respectfulness and efficiency within specific job tasks.

Assists with special projects as assigned.

Job Specifications:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Previous accounting experience with an emphasis on A/P and inventory desired.

MAS 90 experience will be given preference.
