April & May 2021
Here’s what’s going on at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks during April and May, 2021, Lifesavers!
“Locally Sourced” T-shirt
Our new T-shirt lets the world know that you care enough about our local patients to donate blood with the sole provider of blood products to all local hospitals in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas — Community Blood Center of the Ozarks! Give blood at any CBCO donor center or mobile blood drive during April or May 2021 and this T-shirt will be yours (while supplies last). We appreciate you, donors, and we hope you proudly wear this shirt.
Did you receive the COVID-19 vaccine?
If you have received the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine, there is no deferral period before you’re able to give blood again. As long as you’re feeling healthy and well, you’re eligible. If you’re one of the folks who feels a little sick after receiving the injection, please wait until you’re feeling 100% again. As always, if you donate with us and then begin to feel sick within the next seven days, please contact as immediately at 417-227-5000.
Give a Pint! Get a Pint!
Give blood at our Springfield Donor Center Monday, May 10 – Friday, May 14, 2021 and you’ll receive our fabulous “Locally Sourced” T-shirt and a voucher for a free pint of vanilla, chocolate, or the flavor of the day from Culver’s. What a sweet deal! Make your appointment online by clicking HERE. Or give us a call at 417-227-5006.
Joplin Proud Blood Drive – 10th Anniversary
Joplin, Missouri was forever changed May 22, 2011, when an EF-5 tornado swept through town. CBCO is part of the Joplin community, with one of our donor centers located inside Northpark Mall, mobile blood drives taking place regularly in the area, and as the sole provider of blood products to all Joplin hospitals. In the aftermath of the tornado, blood donors lined up to help make sure those who were injured would have the blood they needed.
Now, 10 years later, Joplin Proud is taking place with many events going on in the community. To honor those who were lost, those who were injured, those who lost everything, and to recognize Joplin’s resilience, CBCO is holding a special blood drive at our Joplin Donor Center Monday, May 17 through Friday, May 21.
Donors will receive a special Joplin Proud T-shirt. We would love to see you during this week-long event. Please click HERE to see the T-shirt and find out how to make an appointment. You may make an appointment online by clicking HERE. Or give us a call at 417-227-5006 for assistance saving your spot. Thank you, Joplin!
