Here’s what’s going on at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks during April and May, 2021, Lifesavers!
“Locally Sourced” T-shirt
Our new T-shirt lets the world know that you care enough about our local patients to donate blood with the sole provider of blood products to all local hospitals in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas — Community Blood Center of the Ozarks! Give blood at any CBCO donor center or mobile blood drive during April or May 2021 and this T-shirt will be yours (while supplies last). We appreciate you, donors, and we hope you proudly wear this shirt.
Did you receive the COVID-19 vaccine?
If you have received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, there is no deferral period before you’re able to give blood again. As long as you’re feeling healthy and well, you’re eligible. If you’re one of the folks who feels a little sick after receiving the injection, please wait until you’re feeling 100% again. As always, if you donate with us and then begin to feel sick within the next seven days, please contact as immediately at 417-227-5000.
LifePoints Lift Partner Agencies
We’re focusing on each of our 10 non-profit LifePoints Lift partner agencies throughout the year, to help educate the public on the vital work that they each perform. February is Care To Learn’s turn.
If you aren’t familiar with our LifePoints Lift program and how you can help TWO non-profits at once just by donating blood, we’d love to tell you about it. Click HERE to see the details.
Our April 2021 LifePoints Lift partner is CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates for Children). CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children. Their mission is to recruit, train, and support community volunteers who assist the court in protecting the best interests of abused and neglected children in Southwest Missouri. More than 65,000 donations of blood are required each year to meet the transfusion needs of our friends and neighbors. We at CBCO take the responsibility of providing that blood very seriously.
Our mission states that we will achieve this goal in a timely manner, at the lowest reasonable fee, while remaining accountable to the local community, blood donors and health care providers. With your help, we can accomplish this goal each and every day.
