Bleed Red Blood Drive donors surpass 1,000; New record established!
The nation’s largest blood drive involving a minor league baseball team has set a new record. The Bleed Red Blood Drive with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks welcomed 1,004 donors to the event in Springfield on July 21 and 22. That’s a new record for participation, surpassing the previous record of 915 set in 2009.
The drive also set a new mark for total red blood cell donations at 865, beating the previous record of 812 which was set in 2011.
We’ve also drawn for prize winners. They include Austin French, who will throw out the first pitch at the game vs. Frisco on August 12! Other winners include:
