Events and Promotions Representative – Full-time

Job Summary:

The Events and Promotions Coordinator is responsible for developing recruitment strategies and cultivating the donor pool for CBCO Donor Centers. He/she will oversee a promotions schedule for the donor centers to ensure productivity in the centers. In addition, this position will seek sponsorship from the community for each center event.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages a calendar of events for donor centers to ensure frequent promotional exposure for each.

Develops ongoing promotional strategies for each donor center in the region.

Works together with Center Communications Supervisor, Content Marketing Coordinator, Marketing Assistant and Media Relations Representative, and other staff, as needed, to develop and carry out a donor center recruitment and promotional plan, as well as event planning, venue booking, ordering equipment/resource materials, onsite logistics, speaking points, etc. to ensure each event is successful and aligns with CBCO brand.

Organizes promotional appearances at various venues such as clubs, schools, and community activities.

Works with Media Relations Representative on news/promotions pitches.

Seeks sponsorship (in-kind or cash donations) for each promotional event to offset recruitment costs and build excitement.

Cultivates, nurtures, and maintains relationships with key contacts at area sponsoring organizations.

Utilizes center volunteers, as needed.

Utilizes donor recruitment data to target donor market segments and build effective campaigns.

Documents all work and provides production summary reports to management team.

Provides excellent customer service, cultivating positive working relationships with all staff, volunteers and external customers.

Exhibits safety, accuracy, respectfulness and efficiency within specific job tasks.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to see and read from a computer screen.

Must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely via telephone and in person.

Job Specifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of marketing/donor recruitment experience preferred.

Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information from a variety of sources and present to a lay audience in a compelling way.

Must have the ability to think strategically about promoting the mission and its issues.

Must have excellent organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities and projects.

Must have excellent attention to detail and follow through.

Must have demonstrated ability and willingness to take initiative and work both independently and as a team player.

Knowledge of blood banking and previous non-profit, health-related experience preferred.

Must have a valid drivers’ license and good driving record.
