Field Representative – Joplin

Job Summary:
This position is accountable for the planning, development and the promotion of blood recruitment
activities within an assigned area; communicating blood program activity to the public and acting as liaison
between the Blood Center and donor groups; the development and maintenance of contacts between
volunteers to stimulate their participation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Stabilizes and maintains contacts with donor groups and individuals within an assigned territory to
promote recruitment of blood donors. Encourages industry, school and community participation.
Researches assigned territories and identifies groups not participating to their fullest potential and
promote, educate, plan and develop goals to achieve maximum involvement.
Coordinates special activities in territory, such as high school workshops; acts as coordinator at meetings.
Represents the Blood Center in community activities.
Actively assists Senior Director in region-wide promotions and recruitment projects.
Assists in field training of new field representatives.
Provides excellent customer service, cultivating positive working relationships with all staff, volunteers and external customers.
Exhibits safety, accuracy, respectfulness and efficiency within specific job tasks.
Assists with special projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to communicate articulately.

Job Specifications:
Four year baccalaureate degree recommended.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
Experience in public speaking required.
Must be able to work flexible hours to recruit, support and guide volunteers at their convenience.
