Field Trainer – Springfield; Full-time

Job Summary:

This position will perform field training for Registration, Unit Processing and Phlebotomy. This position will instruct all new Donor Room Services staff in the collection process and ensure that incumbent staff remains competent and certified to perform job functions. Expertise will be maintained by assignment to bloodmobiles or centers on a case by case basis.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with new DRS staff training in all functions as determined by the department.

Performs field training as directed by Manager, DRS Training and Standard Operating Procedures.

Coordinates and implements new equipment and procedures training.

Retrains DRS staff as needed.

Performs self-assessments as assigned.

Maintains proficiency in phlebotomy skills, unit processing, registration, special donations and other areas as determined by the department.

Ensures competencies are initiated, completed and documented.

Is CPR Instructor BLS Certified and maintains CPR certification.

Coordinates CPR training and off-site training seminars and tracks attendance.

Assists with development of training program for the Donor Room Services Department.

Maintains a positive working relationship with all departments.

Supports all aspects of CBCO’s Quality Assurance program.

Maintains knowledge of all DRS SOPs.

Provides excellent customer service, cultivating positive working relationships with all staff, volunteers and external customers.

Exhibits safety, accuracy, respectfulness and efficiency within specific job tasks.

Assists with special projects as assigned

 

Physical Requirements:

Able to stand continuously for a minimum of two (2) hours.

Able to lift 15-25 pounds.

Hand and finger dexterity.

Visual and auditory acuity.

 

Job Specifications:

Minimum three years experience in blood banking or equivalent experience.

Must be able to comply with a flexible schedule.

Experience with Microsoft Office applications required.

Must have demonstrated leadership expertise in blood collection.

Must have attention to detail.

Must have the ability to respect confidentiality of CBCO information.

Must have the ability to perform professionally and provide excellent customer service.
