All mobile blood drives postponed for Friday, January 13 – Two emergency drives will take place in Springfield

January 13, 2017– Another round of winter weather has resulted in the postponement of more Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) blood drives on Friday. All blood drives scheduled for Friday across the CBCO service region have been postponed.

Two emergency drives have been set up in Springfield for Friday at Mercy-Springfield and CoxHealth South.

EMERGENCY BLOOD DRIVES FOR FRIDAY, JANUARY 13

Mercy Springfield – McAuley Conference Room – 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

CoxHealth South – Surgery Classroom – 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Eligible donors who can travel on this day are strongly urged to give at one of these locations.

CBCO donor centers in Springfield, Joplin, Springdale and Bentonville will be open Friday during normal operating hours.

Springfield – Thomson Donor Center, 220 W. Plainview Rd. – Open 7 am to 7 pm

Joplin – Joplin Donor Center, inside Northpark Mall – Open 11 am to 6 pm

Springdale – Springdale Donor Center, 3503 S. Thompson – Open 8 am to 2 pm

Bentonville – Bentonville Donor Center, 1400 SE Walton Blvd. – Open 8 am to 2 pm

Supply levels of blood were already low due to the recent weather events. CBCO remains on a Code Yellow Alert for A Positive, O Positive and O Negative blood types.  A Code Yellow Alert means that there is less than a two-day supply of blood in reserve for patients at 40 area hospitals.

Donors to Community Blood Center of the Ozarks provide blood and blood products to patients at 40 area hospitals.
